A few years ago (OK, maybe more than a few years ago), I was checking out the "Boaphile's" website and came across what Jeff was describing as "White Colombian Boas." What I saw really caught my eye. The baby boas he had WERE genuinely more white than any non-morph boa I had ever laid my eyes on. They weren’t just light colored, they were practically Bone White. Jeff produced these by breeding some of his cleanest, most light-colored Colombians and the results were incredible. Unfortunately, others found these guys before I did and the ones I liked the most were already spoken for. So, we decided to wait and pick some up "next year." But, for many years you didn’t hear anything about the White Colombian boas. Time went by and we were often curious as to what happened to those babies. Was Jeff going to make more? Were the people that purchased the original ones going to breed them, or what?! Well, a few years ago my buddy Merli mentioned to me that he was interested in making some of his larger animals available so he could concentrate on other projects. I asked what was going on the "chopping block."
His reply, "Did you ever hear of Jeff Ronne's White Colombians?" He had a pair that he purchased directly from Jeff, and my immediate answer was, "Sold!" As adults, these boas have matured into very CLEAN, light animals with more of a bright yellowish cast to them. Some have mistaken them for hypos, pastels, and a few things in between. The adults are now of breeding size and I intend on introducing them this year. Don't let the slightly darker pictures below fool you. They were taken during winter breeding trials. In person, these guys are a very clean/light yellowish color with vibrant, highly contrasting tails. I've just never gotten around to taking good pics of these guys while they were "in the light" - but wanted to snap a few while they were courting.

On 7/28/07,
we had a litter of 22 healthy babies born and these guys were definitely
worth the wait! The pictures below
were taken after their first shed and prior to their first meal. Not one
animal in this entire litter has ever refused a meal from the very first meal
offered - and all are currently on at least their 5th meal. All were
started and are currently taking frozen thawed items with gusto. I've been
hesitant to put prices on these guys up until this point because, well - I've
been a little selfish! But, it's time to find them new homes. Keep in mind
that these pictures actually turned out a little dark, and they are even
lighter in person. I could have "adjusted" the pictures a bit to make them
appear more how the babies appear in person. But I'm not into "photoshop'n"
anything beyond cropping and resizing. I think you'll get the idea of just how
nice they are from the untouched pictures posted below. I should have more pictures of the
parents up soon.
In my excitement, I recently emailed Jeff about this litter and here's what the man himself had to say after seeing the birth pictures.....
"Those are wicked nice! Congratulations! I am really glad to see some more out there! You have got to post pictures of those puppies! After they shed they are going to be even better! WOW! I am very happy for you! They are pure Colombian. No tainting of the original bloodline if both parents came from me. They are from my Susie bloodline that I first bred back in 1991 from Suzie who was around ten years old at the time and a male that was around the same age. Old school old time Colombians..."
